Boatshop NewsThere is a 20 Ft West Point Skiff® speculation boat under construction at this time. The Maine Maritime Museum in Bath, Maine has a program called The Discovery Boatbuilding Program where 8th Grade students from South Bristol and Woolwich each build a boat. The construction of that boat encompasses most aspects of wooden boat building. Part of this experience is touring the local boat shops. Last Friday, February 27, the students from South Bristol and and today March 4, the Woolwich students visited my boatshop and learned about strip planking the West Point Skiff®. There were some very interesting questions indicating these kids are really into boatbuilding!! Below is a picture of all the students. My message to them is come back anytime!
